Meinl CAJ1EB-M Ebony Rubber Wood
Meinl box drum delivers classical cajon sound, which, although most often used in flamenco, is popular in all genres of music, from country to alternative rock.
The knurled knob can be adjusted to alter the pressure between the snare wires and the frontplate, which allows for changes in volume as well as changes in rattle. The adjustable snare wires also allow for the musician to create a wide range of sounds. The entire unit can be completely turned off for better transportation.
The Meinl Snare Cajon, in a matte-finished ebony, has a resonating body made of rubber wood. The adjustable top corners and padded sitting surface make for comfortable performance.
Watch the video above for a demonstration of Meinl artistry, provided by Stephan Maass, a master in cajon drumming. Maass uses a variety of Meinl Cajondrums, such as a drum with a recessed top, to create a sound akin to a castanet by striking along the sides of the box.
Be ready to rock out like your favorite musicians, be they the Dixie Chicks, Gipsy Kings or Nada Surf with the Meinl Snare Cajon with an ebony frontplate, following the trend of one of the most widely popular percussion instruments being used today.
